Work and research
This page translates the Starlight Lab GitHub/project inventory into public-safe capabilities. Private customer records, API secrets, guest data, lock codes, and billing details stay out of the website.
Project inventory
The active work set includes construction/interior service packaging, the public site and Starlight Bridge scaffold, hospitality lock middleware, Home Assistant hospitality planning, WLED hospitality lighting, field-service app concepts, specialty Raspberry Pi controllers, and separate private customer records for property work.
Use the lessons and patterns. Do not publish customer credentials, private account facts, guest data, lock codes, raw network exports, or property-specific secrets.

Drywall, paint, repair, epoxy, custom finish work, photo sets, punch lists, and automation-ready room planning.
Lighting circuits, fixture additions, switching and motion-control logic, constant-power corrections, WLED integration, troubleshooting, testing, and owner-ready documentation.
Reservation-based lock automation, guest code lifecycle, status monitoring, staff access, Home Assistant integration, and audit trails.
Occupancy dashboards, room state, lock integration, thermostat control, housekeeping, maintenance alerts, and energy management.
Exterior lighting, occupancy indicators, event lighting, holiday automation, dashboard integration, and Home Assistant control.
Sanitized lessons from a small-property automation pilot: locks, Cloudbeds-style PMS routing, Home Assistant, cameras, networks, TVs, signage, and support docs.
Network/coax surveys, UniFi planning, guest Wi-Fi, TV/IoT segmentation, equipment lists, field drawings, and staged infrastructure rollout.
Contractor time tracking, jobs, expenses, notes, receipts, and job profitability as a future field-service management lane.
Raspberry Pi GPIO/audio control, keypad routing, hardware-friendly dry-run behavior, and small dedicated appliance patterns.
Older Raspberry Pi and blinking-light experiments still map into the current practical automation identity: devices, controls, lighting, and field iteration.
Capability map
Electrical and lighting corrections, drywall, paint, epoxy, custom interior upgrades, repair punch lists, and photo-ready finish work.
Home Assistant, WLED, locks, thermostats, cameras, PMS data, dashboards, and business software.
Safe rules for guest access, room state, climate reset, alerts, reporting, lighting scenes, and staff workflows.
Turn repeatable customer work into checklists, code, docs, deployments, and supportable service packages.
What this means for customers
That combination is the differentiator. A project can start with a wrongly switched light, an unfinished room, messy Wi-Fi, or cameras and grow into dashboards, lock workflows, staff tools, reports, and middleware without pretending each system is unrelated.
Bring the project type, building photos, equipment list, app names, and the workflow you want to stop doing manually.
